Dhaka, August 24 — The anti-discrimination student movement has requested those who are providing medicines as part of flood relief efforts to focus on common cold and fever medications rather than antibiotics. This request was made during a briefing held at the TSC of Dhaka University on Saturday morning, organized to coordinate the public relief program.

The coordinators highlighted the overwhelming support from people across the country who are standing by the flood victims, noting that both the amount of aid and the number of volunteers are continuously increasing. As of 2 AM last night, a total of 1 crore 42 lakh taka has been collected for the relief efforts.

They emphasized that there is currently no need for clothing donations for the flood victims. The most pressing needs now are medicines, torches, and sanitary pads. They also urged donors to send relief money only to the designated number (01886969859) to avoid fraudulent activities, as there have been incidents of scammers copying their posts and changing contact numbers on social media.

The coordinators assured that 20 trucks filled with relief supplies were dispatched to Feni and Noakhali yesterday and that there are sufficient vehicles available to transport additional relief materials.
