Teknaf, Sep 08 (V7N) - The ongoing conflict between Myanmar’s military forces and the Arakan Army in Rakhine state has escalated. A loud explosion was heard around 11 p.m. on Saturday, with gunfire continuing into Sunday morning, causing alarm among residents near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border.

A Rohingya leader from the Teknaf camp, speaking anonymously, reported that many Rohingyas are losing their lives due to the shelling from both sides. With no other refuge apart from neighboring Bangladesh, the possibility of Rohingyas crossing into Bangladesh remains high.

Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer (UNO), Md Adnan Chowdhury, informed Voice7 News that the ongoing internal conflict in Myanmar is again resulting in loud explosions being heard across the border. However, border patrols by the BGB and Coast Guard have been intensified to prevent any illegal crossings.
