Dhaka, Sep 22 (V7N) – A Chinese medical team has arrived in Dhaka to assist in treating those injured during the recent mass uprising, marking China's commitment to stand in solidarity with Bangladesh. The Chinese National Emergency Medical Team landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday at the invitation of the Bangladeshi government.

Yao Wen, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Sheikh Sayidul Haque, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services, welcomed the team at the airport.

The Chinese Embassy stated, "Across Mountains and Rivers, Standing Together in Solidarity — The Chinese National Emergency Medical Team has arrived in Dhaka."

Ambassador Yao expressed concern over the casualties, saying, "As a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partner, China extends condolences to the victims and sympathies to the injured and their families." He emphasized China's continued support for Bangladesh, highlighting their long-standing mutual cooperation.

He also noted that this marks the first emergency medical team sent to Bangladesh by China since the Interim Government was established, demonstrating the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

Dong Qian, head of the medical team, said the team, composed of experts from West China Hospital, has specialties in trauma care, orthopedics, critical care, and more. He added that China will further assess the situation and offer more assistance, including sending additional medical supplies if needed.

Sheikh Sayidul Haque expressed gratitude to China for its timely support, stating that the medical team's arrival is a testament to the long-standing friendship between the two countries. He assured full cooperation from Bangladesh in facilitating the team's work.
