Dhaka, Nov 07 (V7N)- Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped for a second consecutive day as selling pressure persisted, leading to a further decline in the market.

The DSEX, the main index, fell by 31 points, ending at 5,316, following an 18-point loss the day before. Turnover on the DSE also decreased by 17%, totaling Tk541 crore. Approximately 62% of the stocks traded, or 246 companies, saw price declines, while 97 stocks gained, and 52 remained steady.

The DSE Shariah Index decreased by 4.66 points to 1,187, and the DS30 index, representing blue-chip stocks, fell by 2.21 points to 1,965.

Legacy Footwear led the gainers, rising 9.79% to Tk48.2 per share. Other top gainers included Global Heavy Chemical, up 9.66% to Tk26.1, and S Alam Cold Storage, climbing 9.56% to Tk12.6.

Among the biggest decliners, Pharma Aid dropped 9.31% to Tk615.5 per share, while Uttara Finance fell by 7.36% to Tk17.6, and Fareast Finance decreased by 7.31% to Tk3.8.
