Dhaka, Mar 12 (V7N) – The High Court has overturned its previous order to appoint supervisors in 169 companies of Beximco Group, including those associated with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Private Industry and Investment Advisor, Salman F Rahman.
The bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy delivered the verdict on Wednesday, stating that while the regulatory authorities should continue monitoring Beximco Group’s activities, the company can now operate independently without external supervision.
Earlier, in response to a writ petition, the High Court had directed the appointment of supervisors in all Beximco Group companies except Beximco Pharmaceuticals. Following that order, Bangladesh Bank had assigned a supervisor to oversee operations.
With the new ruling, Beximco Group regains full control of its business operations, marking a significant legal victory for the conglomerate.
