Faruque Hassan, the president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), met with a delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Sub-Council of Textile Industry today at the BGMEA Complex in the city. The delegation was led by Vice President and Secretary General Zhang Tao. Zhang Tao was accompanied by two other members of the CCPIT Sub-Council of Textile Industry delegation: assistant director Jiao Jiao and deputy director Wu Zhizhen. The meeting was also attended by Liz Fashion's managing director, Leo Zhuang.

Discussions centered on exploring potential collaborations aimed at showcasing Bangladesh's apparel industry on the global stage, particularly through the organization of international exhibitions. Emphasis was placed on highlighting Bangladesh's strengths in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, with a focus on its enhanced capabilities in manufacturing complex and high-end fashion products. Additionally, talks centered on the role of the CCPIT Sub-Council of Textile Industry in facilitating investment in Bangladesh's non-cotton textile sector, given the country's increasing diversification into higher-value garments made from man-made fibers.

Faruque Hassan provided insights into the notable transformation of Bangladeshi garment factories, underscoring advancements in safety standards, modernization, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Notably, Bangladesh boasts the highest number of green garment factories worldwide. Hassan expressed optimism regarding the potential collaboration between BGMEA and CCPIT Sub-Council of Textile Industry, highlighting the opportunity to showcase the industry's evolving capabilities to a global audience.
