Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) — Prices of Bangladeshi ready-made garments in the European market have declined by about 4 percent, mainly due to weakening demand and rising competition, according to data compiled by Eurostat and analyzed by the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange.

The report noted that prices fell across most major exporting countries in the European market — with the exception of Vietnam — as demand slowed and competition intensified with key suppliers such as China and India.

Export Growth Continues

Despite price pressure, Bangladesh’s garment exports to the European Union rose from €18.32 billion in 2024 to €19.41 billion in 2025, marking roughly 6 percent growth in total export value.

However, analysts say the increase in export volume outpaced revenue growth, as unit prices dropped by about 3.84 percent, limiting overall earnings gains.

The findings highlight the ongoing challenge for Bangladesh’s apparel sector — balancing higher shipment volumes with price competitiveness in a softening global market.
