Dhaka, Mar 13 (V7 N) — Remittance inflow to Bangladesh has witnessed significant growth in the current fiscal year, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.
From July to March 11 of the fiscal year 2025–26, expatriates sent a total of $24.374 billion in remittances to the country. During the same period of the previous fiscal year, the amount stood at $19.82 billion.
As a result, remittance inflows have increased by 22.9 percent year-on-year.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, expatriates sent $183 million to the country in a single day on March 11, 2026.
Meanwhile, between March 1 and March 11 this month, a total of $1.92 billion in remittances was received. In the same period last year, the amount was $1.33 billion.
This indicates that remittance inflows during the period have increased by approximately 44.3 percent compared to the same timeframe last year.
Remittances from expatriate workers remain one of the key pillars of Bangladesh’s economy, contributing significantly to foreign exchange reserves and economic stability.
