State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the availability of essential commodities at affordable prices. Speaking at an inaugural program aimed at distributing essential products among 10 million family cardholders across the country, Titu stressed that maintaining sufficient supply of essential items is essential to prevent market manipulation.
During Ramadan, Titu highlighted the government's efforts to address the shortage of onions by importing them from India through special arrangements facilitated by the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). This initiative aimed to keep onion prices affordable for the public.
Titu also mentioned plans to update the list of eligible beneficiaries for TCB goods regularly and expand the range of products available through the program. Senior officials from the Commerce Ministry and the TCB were present at the event in Baridhara.
