The two-day Bangladesh Denim Expo, organized by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, concluded successfully today at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

Featuring over 60 exhibitors from 11 countries, the expo showcased the latest denim products, fabrics, accessories, chemicals, and technologies, serving as an international platform to promote the Bangladeshi denim industry and foster re-imagination within the sector.

The event included four panel discussions, providing insights and perspectives on various aspects of the denim industry.

Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Minister for Textiles and Jute, addressed the closing ceremony as the chief guest, emphasizing Bangladesh's position as a safe and compliant sourcing hub and urging buyers to pay fair prices. He expressed confidence in the apparel industry's role in driving Bangladesh towards economic progress.

Irma van Dueren, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, highlighted Bangladesh's impressive economic development, with the RMG sector playing a crucial role. She emphasized the focus on sustainability and circular practices in the sector.

SM Mannan (Kochi), President of BGMEA, discussed the industry's incorporation of automation and efforts towards global market expansion and business sustainability.

Ziaur Rahman, Regional Head of H&M for Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Ethiopia, emphasized the importance of circularity, transparency, efficiency improvement, waste management, innovation, and sustainability for industry leadership.

Mostafiz Uddin, Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE), reiterated the role of the RMG industry in Bangladesh's economic growth and the expo's mission to drive industry expansion and evolution.
