Dhaka, Dec 22 (V7N)— Members of the Inqilab Mancha have taken up positions in front of Kakrail intersection and near the Chief Justice's residence, pressing for three demands, including the cancellation of the Awami League's registration.

The protest began on Sunday at 12:30 pm, with demonstrators marching from the Shahbagh National Museum towards the Jamuna, before being stopped by police barricades at Kakrail.

Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, stated that their members would continue their hunger strike until their demands are addressed. The group has urged one of their advisors to engage in discussions with them by 3 pm.

The Three-Point Demands:

1. Immediate Deregistration of Awami League: The protesters demand the cancellation of the registration of what they term the "genocidal party" Awami League.

2. Arrest of Awami League Members: They call for the arrest of all members of the Awami League committees, from central to union levels, to protect the student population from what they allege are secret murders by the party.

3. Safety of July Protesters: The group insists on ensuring the safety of all individuals who participated in the July mass uprising, including private university students.

The protest remains tense as law enforcement closely monitors the situation. Despite police barricades, the demonstrators have vowed to continue until their demands are met. Authorities have yet to respond to the group's call for dialogue.
