Dhaka, Apr 13 (V7N) – Rezaul Karim Mallick has been removed from his position as the Detective Branch (DB) Chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). In a recent development, Mallick has been transferred to the police headquarters.

An official office order, signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, was issued on Saturday, confirming the decision. The order marked the end of Mallick's tenure as DB chief, a post he had assumed on September 1, 2024, following a vacancy that lasted about a month after August 5, 2024.

Rezaul Karim Mallick, an officer from the 17th BCS (Police) batch, joined the Bangladesh Police in 1998. Prior to his appointment as DB chief, he served in various units, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police.

The decision to remove him comes amidst ongoing changes within the Dhaka Metropolitan Police structure.
