In Dhaka's Banani area, a group of garment workers staged a protest on Saturday morning, blocking the road for approximately an hour. The demonstrators expressed their grievances regarding the sudden closure of a factory without prior notice.
The protest led to a temporary halt in vehicular movement, causing traffic congestion in nearby areas such as Mohakhali, Gulshan, and Banani.
According to Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Shahan Haque, the protesting workers were affiliated with Banani Apparel Industry Limited.
Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officials intervened, engaging with both the workers and the factory owners to address the situation. Eventually, the authorities successfully managed to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
