Dhaka, August 14 — The capital city of Dhaka has regained its usual bustling atmosphere as members of the police and traffic departments have returned to their posts, resuming their responsibilities after a period of unrest. Alongside the police, students from the ongoing anti-discrimination movement continue to maintain a presence on the streets, with some still assisting in traffic control.

Police officials have indicated that they plan to fully take back control of the city’s traffic management soon. In the meantime, the collaboration between students and law enforcement has ensured that the city’s roads remain navigable.

The return of law enforcement to their duties has brought a sense of relief to both the police officers and the residents of Dhaka. Many citizens have expressed a desire for the students to return to their classrooms, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping a brighter future.

This transition follows a significant meeting last Sunday between agitating police officers and the Home Affairs Adviser. During the meeting, the police received assurances regarding reforms in the army, leading them to withdraw all protest activities, including strikes.

As Dhaka slowly returns to normalcy, the delicate balance between maintaining public order and addressing the concerns of the student movement remains a key focus for the authorities.
