Dhaka, Sep 29 (V7N)— A low-pressure system currently positioned over the northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbouring areas, including Odisha and East Central India, is expected to bring rain to different parts of Bangladesh in the coming days, according to a forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The forecast predicts that while rain may persist on Sunday, the overall day and night temperatures are expected to remain unchanged. Over the next 72 hours, most areas in the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions will likely experience light to moderate rain, with gusty winds or thunderstorms. Some areas in Dhaka division, and isolated locations in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions, are also expected to receive similar weather conditions.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions during this period, with potential intensification on Monday. Rain is forecasted for most parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet, many parts of Dhaka and Chittagong, and a few places in the other divisions, including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barisal.

On Monday, the day temperatures are expected to remain steady, but night temperatures might see a slight increase.

By Tuesday, the forecast indicates widespread light to moderate rain with gusty winds across most divisions, with potential for moderate to very heavy rainfall in some areas. The day and night temperatures are expected to decrease by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.

The extended five-day forecast suggests that the rainfall pattern may intensify further, with heavier downpours expected in certain parts of the country.
