Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – The monsoon axis, stretching over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and the northern parts of Bangladesh up to Assam, is expected to bring rain across various parts of the country in the coming days.

According to the 72-hour forecast published by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department at 9 am, light to moderate rain with gusty winds may affect most areas in the Dhaka, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, with additional rainfall likely in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Khulna divisions in the next 24 hours starting from Tuesday morning.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected in certain areas, with the possibility of temperatures decreasing by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, most areas of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, as well as several places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, could experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds. The day and night temperatures may drop by 1 to 2 degrees.

On Thursday, similar weather patterns are expected, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers affecting Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, and moderate to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas.

The extended five-day forecast indicates that the current trend of rainfall may continue throughout the country.
