Dhaka, Dec 17 (V7N) — The Meteorological Department has reported that a low-pressure area currently lies over the central and adjacent regions of the South Bay of Bengal, with its extension reaching the North Bay of Bengal. Meanwhile, the subcontinental high-pressure system extends over West Bengal and surrounding areas.

In its 72-hour forecast starting from 9 am Tuesday, the department indicated that the weather across the country is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Forecast Highlights:

Tuesday: Night temperatures may rise slightly, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged. Light to moderate fog may occur at certain places from midnight to morning.

Wednesday (next 24 hours): Night temperatures are expected to drop slightly across the country, while daytime temperatures will remain steady.

Thursday: Weather will remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies. Night temperatures may increase slightly, but daytime temperatures may see a slight decrease.

The extended five-day forecast predicts a possibility of rain in the first half of the period.
