Dhaka, Jan 02 (V7N)— The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about potential disruptions to air traffic, inland river transport, and road communication due to dense fog across the country over the next 72 hours.
In its forecast issued on Thursday morning, the department explained that the subcontinental high-pressure area is currently extending over the western region and its surroundings, while the seasonal low-pressure area lies over the southern Bay of Bengal, extending towards the northeastern Bay.
Key Highlights from the Forecast:
Moderate to dense fog is expected from midnight to noon across the country on Thursday and Saturday.
This dense fog could temporarily disrupt air traffic, river transport, and road communication.
Dry weather with partly cloudy skies is predicted on Friday.
Night and day temperatures may rise slightly over the next three days.
Despite the temperature increase, the dense fog may create a cold sensation in some areas during the daytime.
The public and transport operators are advised to exercise caution, especially during the early hours, to avoid accidents caused by poor visibility. Authorities managing air, river, and road transport systems are urged to take necessary precautions to mitigate disruptions.
