Dhaka, July 09 (V7N) – Intermittent heavy rainfall since early morning has caused severe waterlogging in various low-lying areas of the capital, leading to widespread public suffering and traffic disruptions.
According to the Meteorological Department, Dhaka recorded 77 millimeters of rain in the last 24 hours. However, the highest rainfall in the country was recorded in Feni, with 399 millimeters, marking the most intense downpour so far this monsoon.
Meteorologist Toriful Newaz Kabir stated that rainfall is expected to decrease in Dhaka and across the country starting tomorrow. He added that while the intensity of rain will reduce, sporadic rainfall may continue throughout the month, as is typical during the monsoon season.
The weather office has also predicted a gradual decline in rainfall in heavily affected regions such as Feni and Noakhali, offering some relief to residents who have been grappling with flooding and waterlogging for days.
