Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — The High Court on Thursday dismissed a writ petition seeking to postpone the preliminary examination of the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), clearing the way for the exam to be held as scheduled on Friday, January 30.
The petition, filed on Wednesday by Advocate Nazmus Shakib on behalf of the examinees, had sought a delay in the exam due to its coincidence with the upcoming 13th national elections and referendum. The writ raised concerns over ensuring a safe and fair environment for candidates.
According to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), the preliminary examination will be conducted simultaneously in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Details regarding examination halls, seating arrangements, and other important instructions will be published on the PSC website (www.bpsc.gov.bd) and Teletalk Bangladesh Limited's website (http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd) in due course.
The court’s ruling ensures that the examination will proceed without further legal obstacles, amid heightened administrative preparations for candidates across the country.
