In the evening of Saturday, the 38-year-old Rohingya man was fatally stabbed by an unidentified assailant in Ukhiya's Jamtoli camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

The dead were identified as Badsha Mia (38), a resident of Jamtoli Rohingya camp in Ukhiya and the son of Sirajul Mia.

Ukhiya Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Shamim Hossain said some 4-5 people called Badsha Mia out his house, beat him and then fled after stabbing him.

After Badsha was saved by locals, he was brought to MSF Hospital, where a physician pronounced him dead.

According to the OC, the body was sent to the morgue at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem testing.

He went on to say that the murder's motivation is yet unknown.
