Cox’s Bazar, Jan 09, (V7N) – A man was fatally shot at Seagull Point on Cox’s Bazar beach. The victim has been identified as Golam Rabbani (55), son of Golam Akbar, a resident of Daulatpur, Khulna.
The incident occurred on Thursday night around 8 PM, according to Ilyas Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.
Police teams immediately launched operations to apprehend the assailants following the shooting, OC Ilyas confirmed.
Abdus Salam Babu, an auto-rickshaw driver who transported the victim to the hospital, recounted, "I heard a gunshot near the wooden bridge in front of Seagull Point but couldn’t see who fired. I then noticed a man collapsing."
Salam promptly rescued the injured man and rushed him to the hospital in his auto-rickshaw. Upon arrival at the hospital, the victim was identified through his National ID card.
Police have intensified their efforts to investigate the incident and locate those responsible for the fatal attack.
