At Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, Bangladesh, the Customs Intelligence Department and National Security Intelligence (NSI) have detained two travelers, one of whom was carrying 1.228 kg of gold. The confiscated gold is said to be worth around two crore taka on the open market.

On Saturday morning, the two passengers on aircraft G9-526 from Sharjah to Chattogram were taken into custody.
Mohammad Shafiqul Islam from Potiya Upazila in Chattogram and Mohammad Morshed from Hathazari Upazila are the passengers who have been detained.

CaptainTaslimAhmed, Director of Shah AmanatInternational Airport, stated that upon arrival of flight G9-526 in the morning, NSI
andCustomsIntelligence jointly searched the passengers' luggage. During this inspection, gold was found concealed inside branding machines in the bags of the two individuals.
A total of 2.228 kilograms of gold was seized from inside the branding machines, with an estimated market value of approximately two crore taka.

Legal proceedings against the detained passengers are underway.

The director of Shah Amanat International Airport, Captain TaslimAhmed, reported that NSI and Customs Intelligence worked together to inspect the passengers' bags when aircraft G9-526 arrived in the morning.

Gold was discovered hidden within branding machines in the two people's backpacks during this check.
Two crore taka is the estimated market value of the 2.228 kg of gold that was found within the branding machines.

There are ongoing legal actions taken against the arrested travelers.
