At her house in the Rumalia area of Cox's Bazar, a woman by the name of Rina Akhtar was murdered and her belongings plundered.

The late Rina Akhtar was the local Hafez Abu Nasher's wife.
Local councillor Osman Sarwar Tipu spoke of the neighbours, saying that he arrived at the location following a call from the locals and saw the corpse of the murdered woman. Concerning who or what murdered him, nothing was known.
