Locals have rescued three members of the same family who were abducted by raiding around Teknaf hill in Cox's Bazar Bangladesh.
These three people were abducted from Mochhani area of Hnila Union of Teknaf at around 3 pm on Thursday (May 2). Later, hundreds of local residents started a campaign around the entire mountain from dawn. They were rescued from the mountain around 10 am.
The abductees are Mir Ahmed and Habibur Rahman, sons of Ashraf Zaman and Noor Faiz, son of Habibur Rahman, residents of Mochoni village, Hnila Union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Mohammed Osman Goni told Voice7 News that the locals surrounded the hill in front of the police after knowing about the abduction.
Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot. At one point it was possible to rescue three people. The three rescued persons are under the supervision of the local UP chairman. There are 3 people rescued under. Talking to them. The process of identifying those involved in the incident and taking legal action is underway.
Note that from March 2023 to May 2, 2024, 124 people were abducted from different areas of Teknaf. 66 of them are local residents, the rest are Rohingya citizens. At least 53 of the kidnapped victims have been released on ransom, according to the families of the abductors.
