Khulna, Oct 03 (V7N)- Since the government gave permission, 277 metric tons of 300 kg of hilsa have been exported to India by 91 trucks in 5 days through Benapole port. Out of this, 54 tons 460 kg in 20 trucks last Thursday, 45 metric tons 200 kg in 15 trucks on Saturday, 19 metric tons in 6 trucks on Sunday, 89 metric tons in 30 trucks on Monday and 69 metric tons 640 kg in 23 trucks were exported to India. . The export price of hilsa per kg is 10 dollars, which is 1 thousand 180 taka in Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (October 2), hilsa is being sold for Tk 1,700 to Tk 1,800 per kilogram in the wholesale fish market of Benapole market. Accordingly, hilsa of the same size is being exported to India with a reduction of around 500-600 taka. Benapole port source informed these information.

Aswadul Alam, Inspector of Fisheries Inspection and Quality Control Center of Benapole Land Port of Fisheries Department, said that the circular of Hilsa export was a few years ago. However, he also thinks that the price can be adjusted in line with the domestic market price of hilsa.

Ismail Hossain, the general secretary of Navaran Bazar Matsya Arat Samiti, said, "In the local market, where hilsa is sold for 1,700-800 taka, it is incomprehensible how it is being exported to India at 10,000 taka or 1,180 taka." He said that hilsa weighing 800 grams was sold for 1.5 thousand taka per kg yesterday.

Rashedul Sajib Nazir, deputy director of Benapole land port, said that 69 metric tons of 640 kg of hilsa had been exported in 15 trucks yesterday evening. With this, hilsa export to India in 5 days is 277 metric tons 300 kg.
