Khagrachari, Oct 08 (V7N) — The victims of recent communal violence in Khagrachari have received essential aid, including foodgrains and financial assistance, to help them cope with the crisis. The Khagrachari upazila administration organized the distribution event on Monday afternoon, with Supradip Chakma, advisor to the Chittagong Hill Tracts Ministry, overseeing the process.

Approximately 200 families affected by the violence were provided with food supplies, while financial grants were distributed to the families of the deceased. The three individuals killed in the recent clashes— Junayan Chakma , Md. Mamun , and Rubel Tripura —were given financial support, with each family receiving between 1 lakh and 3 lakh rupees as compensation.

Present during the distribution event were several prominent local officials and civil society leaders, including Khagrachari District Commissioner Md. Sahiduzzaman , Superintendent of Police Arefin Jewell , Sadar Upazila Officer Sujan Chandra Roy , and Sadar Upazila Project Implementation Officer Akhil Shikari .

The assistance aims to provide immediate relief to the affected families as they begin to recover from the tragic events. The authorities have emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and providing support to those impacted by the violence in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
