Mymensingh, Nov 29 (V7N)- A significant fire broke out at the BSCIC Industrial Park in Mymensingh on Friday (November 29), engulfing the Hekem Bangladesh Limited pesticide warehouse and spreading rapidly to nearby areas. The blaze began at around 10 a.m. and produced thick black smoke that covered the surrounding vicinity.
Eleven units of the fire service were deployed to the scene, battling the fire for over two hours to bring it under control. As of the latest reports, two units are still working on-site to completely extinguish the fire and prevent further spread.
The warehouse, along with its contents, has been completely destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported as the industrial park was closed for the holiday.
Fire service officials have confirmed that a detailed investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire. The extent of the financial losses is yet to be assessed.
