Sajek, Dec 07 (V7N) — A tragic road accident occurred in the House Para area of Sajek this morning when a Chand’s car carrying tourists overturned and fell 30 feet into a ditch. Ten people sustained injuries, four of whom are in critical condition.

The tourists were returning to Khagrachhari after visiting the popular Sajek tourist centre when the accident happened. Officer-in-Charge of Sajek Police Station, Kanak Sarkar, confirmed the incident and stated that the injured tourists were promptly rescued and taken to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Among the critically injured are Zakir, Arfan, Sabuj, Saiful, and Ujjwal. Police reported that the injured individuals hail from Dhamrai in Savar and Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and efforts are being made to ensure the safety of travellers along the hilly roads of Sajek.
