Pabna, Jan 16 (V7N): A vibrant youth festival was held at Chatmohar Women's Degree College in Pabna on Thursday, under the theme "Come change the country, let's change the world." The event aimed at fostering creativity and social responsibility among students.
The festival began with an inauguration by retired senior educationist Md. Fosi Uddin Ahmed, marking the start of a day-long program on the college premises at 11 am. The opening ceremony was attended by former MP from Pabna-3 constituency KM Anwarul Islam, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program was chaired by Sharif Mahmud Sanju, Principal of Chatmohar Women's Degree College.
The event also saw speeches from various dignitaries including Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Musa Naser Chowdhury, Police Station OC Manjurul Alam, and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Maghreb Ali, along with local political and community leaders. Among them were Maulana Md. Hamidur Rahman, Asaduzzaman Arshed, and Dr. MA Majid, who offered their words of encouragement to the students.
The day was filled with vibrant activities, starting with a warm welcome from the college students, who greeted the guests with flowers. Freshmen were also welcomed with a ceremonial scattering of flower petals.
One of the highlights of the festival was the setup of local pitha stalls across the campus, where visitors and guests had the chance to enjoy traditional snacks. The cultural program that followed included captivating dance and song performances by the college's teachers and students. Additionally, RTV Bangla's singing champion Russell Mridha and music artist Mim from Ishwardi entertained the crowd with their performances. The festival concluded with a lively fashion show set to the beats of popular songs.
The event showcased the talent and enthusiasm of Chatmohar Women's Degree College's students, reinforcing the message of youth empowerment and change.
