Mongla, Jan 25 (V7N) - A dispute over an agricultural farm in Dakshin Chila village of Mongla has escalated, with allegations of forcible occupation by one group. The complainant, Hafizur Rahman Sabuj, claims that his farm, located in Ward 4 of Chila Union, has been partially occupied by his opponents—Siddiq Khan, Solaiman Khan, Humayun Khan, and Forkan Khan—despite an ongoing court case over the land.
According to Hafizur Rahman, he purchased the land and had been maintaining the farm for years. However, the accused group allegedly encroached on a portion of the property and, on Friday morning, started building a house surrounded by tin sheets. When Hafizur Rahman attempted to intervene, he was reportedly threatened. He subsequently filed a complaint with the police against the four accused.
Solaiman Khan, one of the accused, denied the allegations, asserting that the construction was taking place on his own land.
Officer-in-Charge of Mongla Police Station, Md. Anisur Rahman, stated that no official complaint has been received so far. He emphasized that since the matter is land-related and currently under court jurisdiction, it should ideally be resolved through legal channels.
