Pabna, Jan 25, (V7N) - Five activists of the banned Chhatra League have been arrested for allegedly creating panic by holding a procession in Ataikula, Pabna.
The arrests were made on Saturday morning, January 25, from various locations.
Ataikula Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salahuddin Kader confirmed the information, stating that the banned Chhatra League members held a torch procession from Shrikol Bazaar in Ataikula on the night of January 24. The procession ended near the Shrikol Bridge.
Following the incident, police launched an operation. From midnight until Saturday morning, the police conducted raids in various areas of Ataikula and arrested five members of the banned Chhatra League.
The arrested individuals are: Shawon Reza Khan (32), son of Shahjahan Khan from Dubliya Camppara in Ataikula; Amirul Islam (31), son of Abbas Ali from Notunpara; Shahidul Islam (31), son of Munu Fakir from Shrikol; Tupu Raihan (35), son of the late Janab Ali from the same village; and Shakil Mirdha (17), son of Billal Mirdha.
OC Salahuddin Kader stated that the arrested individuals were sent to jail after a court hearing on Saturday afternoon.
