Khulna, Jan 26 (V7N)- A workshop on creating a sustainable and productive dairy value chain model in southwestern Bangladesh and on Green Dairy Partnership was held at the Divisional Commissioner's Conference Hall today (Sunday) afternoon. Khulna Divisional Commissioner and KCC Administrator Md. Firoz Sarkar was the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, the chief guest said that Bangladesh is an agricultural country.
Most of the people of this country are involved in some agricultural work and are keeping the economic side of our country active. Many of the country's residents are involved in farming. If we look at Khulna, we can see that many are involved in farm-related work. Some are also involved in fish farming. If our farmers are trained through training, then the production and sustainability system will be further improved in this regard. However, he called on the companies to come forward and stand by the farmers so that small and big farmers do not have to face the risk of losses at different times. The Divisional Commissioner specifically called on them to pay attention to ensuring that the farmers get the right price for the milk they produce and that they do not become hostages in the hands of the companies.
Under the chairmanship of Solidarity Network Asia Country Manager Selim Reza Hasan, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Abu Sayed Md. Manjur Alam and Khulna Divisional Director of Khulna Livestock Department Dr. Nurullah MD Ahsan delivered speeches as special guests.
