Four persons have been taken into custody by the forest department for unlawfully entering and felling trees on government-reserved forest property in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. They were able to save the lives of two tree cutters during this period.

The people who were arrested are Sheikh Sadiq of the same village, Sabbir Ahmed (18), son of Sheikh Nowsher Ali, resident of Chapatla village, Bagerhat, Imran Hossain Babu (32), son of Sheikh Motaleb of Rangdia village, Bagerhat, and Abbas Uddin, son of Muhammad Islam, resident of Januar Para, South Mithachari Union, Ramu Upazila, Cox's Bazar.

Mehedi Hasan, Son (18). In the afternoon, the accused who had been apprehended were turned over to the Ukhiya police station.

The operation took place around 1:30 pm on Monday, March 11 in the Palangkhali Union of Ukhiya neighborhood known as Gainkhola.

The Forest Department reports that in 2020–2021, 220 hectares of short-term gardens were established in RS Dag No. 170 protected forest area, which is located in the third seat of Ukhiyar Ghat Mauza inside Ukhiyar Palangkhali Union.

Bikas Das, the Thyngkhali Beat Officer for Ukhiya, spearheaded this effort.

Ukhiya Range Officer Gazi Shafiul Alam affirmed the veracity of this.

At the Ukhiya police station, an accusation is being made against the detained suspect.
