Rajshahi Bureau, June 30 (V7N) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has approved the revised budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 and the proposed budget for 2025–26 during a meeting held on Monday (June 30) at the City Hall auditorium. The meeting was presided over by Khondakar Azim Ahmed, NDC, Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi and Administrator of RCC. The budget was unanimously passed by the committee formed by the Local Government Division to oversee RCC operations.
 
For the fiscal year 2025–26, the proposed total income in both revenue and development sectors stands at Tk 806.61 crore, while the total proposed expenditure is Tk 806.36 crore. In comparison, the initial budget for FY 2024–25 was Tk 837.45 crore, which was later revised to Tk 609.82 crore.
 
During the session, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized the importance of realistic budgeting and expressed confidence that RCC would meet its development goals while ensuring transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.
 
Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhtar, RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Secretary Mosammat Rumana Afroze, and Budget Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan were among the key attendees. Representatives from various governmental departments, including education, health, housing, public works, fire service, and the environment, were also present.
 
Top RCC officials such as Supervising Engineer Ahmad Al-Moin, Chief Sanitation Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Noor-e-Saeed, and Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum attended the meeting alongside their respective department staff.
 
The approved budget prioritizes urban infrastructure upgrades, essential public services, and sustainable development initiatives. With proper implementation, RCC expects to exceed revenue targets and improve overall urban governance in the coming fiscal year.
