TANGAIL, Feb 20, (V7N) - State Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku today said regular monitoring and supervision will address artificial crises created by syndicates in the food and agriculture sectors.

Speaking to journalists after a meeting with district administration officials, he said a market monitoring cell has already been established to keep essential goods affordable during Ramadan.

“There is sufficient stock of all essentials for Ramadan. The government is taking measures to ensure people can purchase goods at reasonable prices,” Tuku said, adding that milk, eggs and meat will be sold at subsidized rates to ease pressure on low- and middle-income families. A program to sell these items at affordable prices in Tangail will be inaugurated tomorrow.

He also emphasized fulfilling promises to the people of Tangail, including combating drugs, terrorism and juvenile gangs.

Earlier, the state minister joined a discussion chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque. Police Super Mohammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Additional District Commissioner (Revenue) Sanjay Kumar Mahanta, and heads of various departments attended.
