Neighbor and social worker Selim Hossain said the fire was difficult to control because many villagers were attending Tarawih prayers at the time. He urged wealthy residents and authorities to support the affected family.
Basudeb Sarkar, station officer of Santhia Fire Service, said his team received word that the fire was already under control before they arrived.
Santhia Upazila Executive Officer Riju Tamanna said the administration would take necessary measures if the family requested assistance.
