In a raid conducted by the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Sunday at the Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, five Rohingya men were apprehended while carrying local and foreign weapons.

Led by Additional Superintendent of Police Ahidur Rahman, an APBn team conducted the operation in the D-9 block of Kutupalong camp in the morning, as confirmed by APBn-14 Commander Additional Deputy Inspector General (ADIG) Mohammad Iqbal.

The detainees, identified as Mohammad Jubair (22), Dil Mohammad (35), Mohammad Khalil (34), Mohammad Idris (28), and Mohammadullah (25), are reported to be active members of the Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA), an armed organization in Rakhine. Among them, Jubair holds the position of ARA commander.

According to ADIG Mohammad Iqbal, the detainees are affiliated with an armed terrorist organization of the Rohingyas and are accused of various criminal activities.

During the operation, the police seized five foreign pistols, two local guns, and 18 rounds of ammunition.

Preparations are underway to file a case against the detainees at the Ukhiya police station.
