A woman's body has been found floating in the tidal waters of the Bankkhali River and the sea estuary in Cox's Bazar. Police have yet to confirm her identity.
 
Police recovered the body around 1 PM on Sunday, May 26, confirmed Ruhul Amin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.
 
According to police and speedboat operators, a speedboat operator traveling from Maheshkhali to Cox's Bazar on Sunday spotted a body floating where the waters of the Bankkhali River meet the sea. He informed the speedboat's lineman, who then alerted the police.
 
Ruhul Amin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, stated that upon receiving the information, police used a speedboat to recover the body. Initial assumptions suggest that it is the body of an unidentified woman. The body has been sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he added.
