Langadu June 15,(V7N)- In Rangamati's Langadu, at least three people were killed by lightning strikes while traveling on a local passenger boat on Kaptai Lake during a sudden storm. The boat's driver is still missing. In a separate incident, a housewife was killed by lightning in the Chairman Tilla area of Karalchari in Langadu Upazila.
 
Confirming the incident, Langadu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid said the lightning struck on Saturday while they were returning home to Vashanya Adam from Maini Bazar. A case of unnatural death will be filed in this regard.
 
The engine-powered boat was struck by lightning at a place called Mina Bazar in Langadu Upazila while returning home after the Korban's market on Saturday. Four people, including the boat's driver, were killed at the scene. All four were residents of the Vashanya Adam area of Vashanya Adam Union.
 
The deceased are Ziaul Haque (50), Akkas Ali (45), Obaidullah (30), and Bachchu Mia (30).
 
Although three bodies were found, the boat's driver, Akkas Ali, is still missing. The search for the missing Akkas Ali is ongoing.
 
Meanwhile, in the Chairman Ghat area of Karalchari in Langadu, a housewife named Rina Begum (35) was killed by lightning.
 
On Saturday, June 15th, at around 3 PM, Rina Begum, the wife of Ibrahim from Ward No. 1 of Atarakchara Union's Karalchari Chairman Tilla, was struck by lightning while on the veranda of her house.
