Kalapara, July 6 (V7N)- A mobile court has fined the owners of two restaurants in the tourist destination of Kuakata a total of Tk 3 lakh for preparing and serving food in unsanitary conditions and for polluting the environment.
 
On Friday, (July 5) afternoon, Baisakhi Hotel & Biryani House and Gazi Restaurant & Biryani House were each fined Tk 1.5 lakh. The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Koushik Ahmed.
 
The executive magistrate of the mobile court stated that the fines were imposed because both restaurants had been discharging dirty water directly into the sea via pipes and preparing and serving food in unsanitary conditions for some time.
