Kalapara, July 7(V7N)- The Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath was celebrated in Kalapara, Patuakhali with colorful arrangements. On Sunday at 4 PM, a procession was taken out from the Shri Shri Jagannath Nat Mandir. The procession paraded through the main streets of the municipal town, then returned to the same place via Chingaria.

Hundreds of men and women of all ages from the Hindu community participated in the procession. The entire area resonated with the sound of drums and conch shells. Simultaneously, the Rath Yatra festival was also held at the Radha Govinda Temple in the tourist center of Kuakata.

It is believed that every year on this occasion, Lord Jagannath comes out on a city tour to give his devotees a chance to see him. Seven days later, he will return to his abode from his aunt's house, marking the occasion with the Ulto Rath (return journey). Thousands of Sanatan (Hindu) devotees celebrate this Rath Yatra festival with the aim of world peace.
