Kalapara, July 10 (V7N)- The National Consumer Rights Directorate fined three restaurants a total of Tk 30 thousand for selling spoiled and stale food, and seven grocery store owners a total of Tk 24 thousand for selling products at inflated prices in Kalapara, Patuakhali. 
 
The fines were imposed during an operation conducted on Wednesday afternoon in various areas of Kalapara Chourasta and the municipal town by Shah Sohaib Miah, Assistant Director of the Patuakhali District Consumer Rights Directorate.
 
Present during the operation were Apurba Adhikari, Deputy Director of the Barisal Divisional Office of the Consumer Rights Directorate, Mrinal Chandra Debnath, Sanitary Inspector of Kalapara Upazila, and members of the local police force.
 
Shah Sohaib Miah stated that the Consumer Rights Directorate's operations are ongoing to control the market.
