A prayer ceremony was held in Mithakhali field on Saturday morning for the recovery and well-being of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, as well as for the souls of the students who died in the anti-quota movement. The event was organized by Upazila BNP and attended by Bagerhat district BNP joint convener, Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam, who was the chief guest.

In his address, Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam emphasized the importance of following the directives of Tariq Rahman, whom he referred to as the pride of youth. He praised the students for their sacrifices in the anti-quota movement, describing it as a "second freedom" and urged BNP members to work towards fulfilling the aspirations of these young people. He acknowledged the high expectations placed on BNP and stressed the importance of avoiding mistakes and maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood, in line with Tariq Rahman's guidance.

BNP leader Sheikh Rustam Ali, who presided over the event, highlighted the ongoing efforts of BNP leaders and activists in protecting the lives and property of the people. He noted that under the leadership of Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam and following the direction of Tariq Rahman, BNP members are playing a courageous role in the streets.

The prayer ceremony was attended by several BNP leaders, including Mannan Howladar, Rustum Sheikh, Shah Alam Sheikh, Abu Hossain Poni, Mahbubur Rahman Manik, Babul Hossain Roni, as well as Jubo Dal leader Saiful Islam, Ah Hakim, and Abul Kashem.

Special prayers were offered during the event for the recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia and for the souls of the martyred students.
