Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, the minister of education in Bangladesh, has asked Chattogram University (CU) administrators to take decisive action against individuals instigating the continuing conflicts between two student organizations.

In a conversation with CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shireen Akhter on Saturday, the minister conveyed his profound worry over the recent conflicts on campus.

He requested that the VC move quickly to find and punish the individuals who started the altercations.

Drive strangers from university dorms to provide a safe and secure campus for all students.

The minister recommended that to preserve order and calm on campus, the CU administration collaborate with the university's faculty and police enforcement.

Nowfel issued a warning, saying that no one will escape unscathed, no matter what party they belong to.

To examine the matter, the VC convened a meeting of the university's law and order committee for Sunday morning.

Concerns over the safety and security of students on campus have been raised since Wednesday due to a slew of altercations between two factions of the Chhatra League.
