Kushtia, Nov 21, (V7N)— The Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir held a freshers’ reception program for students of the 2023–2024 academic year on Thursday morning at Shilpokola Academy in Kushtia.

The event was presided over by H. M. Abu Musa, president of the IU Chhatrashibir unit, with secretary Mahmudul Hasan serving as host. Manjurul Islam, President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, attended the program as the chief guest.

Notable guests included:

Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, former General Secretary of the Islamic University Teachers' Association.

Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Provost of Saddam Hossain Hall.

Principal A. K. M. Ali Mohsin, former Ameer of Kushtia District.

Sohel, Central Education Secretary of Chhatrashibir.

Selim Reza, President of the Kushtia City Branch of Chhatrashibir.

 

The program welcomed new students with floral greetings and gifts, including key rings, pens, table calendars, introductory materials, and books.

In his speech, H. M. Abu Musa highlighted the organization’s resilience, stating, “Shibir has faced numerous challenges but continues to bring positive changes to the student community. Its sacrifices for fair politics and education in Bangladesh will not be forgotten.”

Chhatrashibir’s Central President, Manjurul Islam, emphasized the group’s historical contributions, particularly in the 24’s Movement. “The success of this movement came through the sacrifices of around 2,000 martyrs and countless injured individuals,” he remarked. He reiterated Shibir’s commitment to creating a fair Bangladesh where true freedom is realized.

The reception concluded with a call for unity and dedication toward building a prosperous nation.
