Kustia, Nov 25 (V7N)- The Islamic University, the largest higher educational institution in southwestern Bangladesh, celebrated its 46th University Day today with great enthusiasm and vibrant festivities.

The day’s events commenced at 9:45 AM, with the provosts of all residential halls hoisting the national and university flags above their respective premises. The official celebration began at 10:00 AM at the university's football field, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah led the flag-hoisting ceremony.

Colorful Rally Highlights

A lively and colorful rally followed the ceremony, featuring representatives from residential halls, faculties, and student political organizations. Participants carried banners and creative displays, bringing energy and vibrancy as they paraded through the university’s main roads.

Homage and Cultural Programs

As part of the celebration:

  • Members of Zia Parishad and leaders from the Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal IU unit paid tribute at the Shaheed Zia foundation stone.
  • A cultural event was organized by the Teachers-Students Cultural Centre (TSCC) to mark the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor's Remarks

Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah expressed his pride in the institution, stating, "Islamic University holds great significance for us. We are committed to maintaining a high-quality educational environment at this university."

Pre-Event Observance

Earlier, on November 22, a Dua and Munajat were held to mark the milestone. The celebrations concluded today with a mix of formal and festive programs.

The event reflects IU’s commitment to fostering a vibrant academic culture and its dedication to upholding its legacy as a leading educational institution in the region.
