MBSTU, Jan 09, (V7N) - The Department of Food Technology and Nutritional Science (FTNS) at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) hosted a memorable fresher reception for the 19th batch (2023-24 session) and farewell ceremony for the 15th batch (2019-20 session). The event, marked by vibrant cultural activities and heartfelt speeches, was jointly organized by the department's teachers and students.
 
The festivities commenced on January 9, Thursday, at 10:00 AM with activities organized by the Nutrition Club on the 5th floor of the Third Academic Building. Events included a quiz competition, short essay writing on food and nutrition, open discussions, and creative activities like artificial food design and drawings. Students from all batches actively participated, and the winners were awarded prizes.
 
Later in the day, at 4:00 PM, the reception and farewell ceremony took place at the university’s multipurpose building. The program began with warm welcomes for the newcomers, who were greeted with flowers. This was followed by captivating cultural performances, including songs, dances, poetry recitations, and more.
 
The honorable Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Azizul Haque, praised the department for its contributions to MBSTU and highlighted its achievements over the years. Departing graduates reminisced about their cherished moments and expressed their gratitude towards the department. As a token of appreciation, crests were presented to the outgoing students.
 
The ceremony concluded with prize distribution for competition winners and heartfelt farewells, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. The active participation of the department's chairman, teachers, students, officers, and staff added to the event's success.
 
This vibrant celebration underscored the FTNS Department's commitment to fostering a supportive and inspiring academic environment, making it a day to remember for all participants.
