Rajshahi, Jan 11, (V7N) - The hanging body of a student from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) was discovered by police on Friday night (January 10). The incident occurred at the Ebela Hostel in the Fudkipara area of Rajshahi city around 11 PM.
 
The deceased, Mehedi Hasan, was a student of Urban and Regional Planning (URP) under the 2018-19 academic session at RUET. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station, Mehedi Masud, confirmed the matter.
 
He stated, “Preliminary evidence suggests it was a case of suicide. However, the exact cause remains unknown. The body has been sent to the morgue of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). The family has been informed, and further legal procedures will be undertaken based on their decision before handing over the body.”
