Dhaka, Feb 14 (V7N) — The Amar Ekushey Book Fair turned vibrant with the colours of spring as children and parents thronged the venue for the special Shishuprahar (Children’s Hour) on Friday. The fairgrounds at Suhrawardy Udyan were filled with young book lovers dressed in festive spring attire, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.

From 11 AM to 1 PM, children eagerly explored various stalls, selecting their favourite rhyme books, poetry collections, and cartoon stories. Parents accompanying them expressed excitement about their children’s enthusiasm for books, though some regretted the absence of Sisimpur activities at this year’s fair.

To entertain the young visitors, Bangla Academy arranged puppet shows, painting sessions, and poetry recitations, ensuring an engaging experience despite the missing Sisimpur setup.

Children’s Hour is held every Friday and Saturday during the fair. However, due to the Dhaka University admission test, there will be no Children’s Hour tomorrow (February 15).

With the fair in full swing, book lovers of all ages continue to celebrate literature, culture, and the spirit of Amar Ekushey.
